Melting and Recreating Crayons

The beautiful weather here is making me lazy.  I DON’T WANNA DO SCHOOL.  So, I decided we’re going to have some fun today.  We are going to be first destructive and then constructive.  We melted crayons and then recreated them in fun molds.  In case you’re interested in making your own cool crayons, you can check out this link.

We tore the papers off the crayons.  Honestly, this took the longest time, but the kids had fun doing it anyway.

We then broke up the crayons in smaller pieces and put them in our Ikea ice cube molds that we no longer use.

We melted the crayons in the oven.

We cooled the crayons in the freezer for about 15 minutes and then popped them out.  Look at all the fun shapes.

Now, let’s have some fun using them.
