A great sermon from John Macarthur. But have a listen to a soundbite from Wayne Grudem over at theologybites.blogspot.com which is a slightly different take on doulos and Slavery. Cool stuff.

Thank you so much for your detailed notes! I had to leave at noon on Friday for my daughter's birthday. SC08 was a spiritual boost - yet I had to leave before the full measure could be enjoyed. Your notes filled up what I missed!

Thank you!

Once again Pastor John proved himself to be a master expositor, and this evening he wore a biblical-theological hat in explaining the kurios and duolos relationship. He did a superb job indeed.

I'm walking away from this message with two realities: 1) we're missing this "slave-talk" reality in our evangelical understanding and 2) that the fundamental duty of a slave is obedience and submission.

Evers, thank you again for your laborious posts. May the Lord bless your hands and fingers! You've truly served me and many others who couldn't be there physically. I think I'm going to use your posts for further reflections and future sermon preparations. A big thanks again to you brother.
